Craig found out that it was rather easy to get used to the scent of coffee in the morning.
It wasn't as if Tweek’s house didn't always smell like coffee. It did, morning and day and night. Tweek smelled like coffee too, and although he had promised Craig that he would try to drink less coffee, he was still drinking more than an average high schooler would.
Tweek was still asleep. He was usually asleep when Craig woke up anyway, because despite the fact their bodies were pressed together on a single bed made for a ten years old, Craig always managed to fall asleep earlier than Tweek.
So mornings were Craig’s time. Which was kind of funny, really, because he had never fancied himself to be a morning person. He was more of an after school afternoon person.
But he liked mornings well enough now. With Tweek, he did anyway. Especially on Saturdays like these, when they didn't have to go to school and Tweek’s parents still had to go open up their coffee shop.
They were alone in the world, and Tweek was calm, breathing steadily against Craig’s chest.
Steadily.
There was a point in time Craig would have found this weird as fuck. Tweek was never steady. He was that friend who was always nervous, always shaking and always drinking coffee that made everything worse.
Perhaps it’s what drew Craig to Tweek to begin with. He was slightly curious for a second, annoyed for a day and without realising it, in love for a year.
Annoyed as hell that he was in love for a year, because he was ten and being gay was considered strange in their little town, even after they had bullshit like those gnomes Tweek hated and aliens and whatever else Stan and those guys invoked the wrath of.
Annoyed as hell it was with Tweek, who wasn’t supposed to be much more to him than what he was.
But Tweek was calm next to him often enough now that Craig was used to it.
And Craig realised, he might have fell a little deeper.
