i get really hungry at night
The bedside clock flashed 3:00AM in the dark as Luhan was woken up by the smell of kimchi-flavoured cup noodle. It was cold in his bed, the familiar body that he fell asleep to had disappeared to turn into the fidgety nuisance that woke him up at an ungodly hour.
But he should be used to it, really.
It was exactly a few minutes ago that someone he'd never met stopped breathing some years and days and hours ago that he was never quite sure of. It was only the time that was clear, 2:32AM, exactly.
It was the exact same time every night his boyfriend would wake up and lie in bed for five minutes, exactly. Pace around their living room for sixteen minutes, exactly. Go to the kitchen and make the only food he could with far too much agitation for boiling water, pouring it and seasoning into the container and waiting three minutes, exactly.
And at the end of those three minutes it would be near enough to 3:00AM, exactly. At this very moment, Jongin would be in the kitchen, watching cup noodle cool while playing with the contents with his plain coloured chopsticks. He was tired and he was lost and Luhan could see every bit of self-loathe in the way he moved and in the way his eyes lost the shine that Luhan fell in love with to begin with.
But he was in love anyway. He was in love still, then at the ungodly hour of 3:00AM.
Luhan pulled himself out of bed to greet Jongin good morning.
